About Our Shadowing Program
The Department of Surgery is pleased to offer shadowing experiences for the College of Human Medicine’s pre-clinical students, as well as pre-physician assistant students, and undergraduates interested in the medical field. To participate, please read the directions below and sign up via the contact form given at the end of this page.
As a pre-physician assistant student (undergraduate), you may only function as an observer. There are also a number of forms that must be completed prior to setting up an experience. Freshman & Sophomores students are limited to one half-day clinic experience with a lunch with a physician assistant. Junior & Senior students are limited to two half-days experiences. You will receive one Operating Room (O.R.) experience and one Clinic experience.

Students are limited to two half-days, either 8:00am-12:00pm or 1:00pm-5:00pm. You receive one OR experience and one Clinic experience.
